The COVID-19 pandemic certainly put many lives to a halt—well at least for nearly six months until we began to realize that we are all frontliners after all. We are essential workers and businesses in our own way.
We may not be doctors, nurses, bankers, or workers in a food industry but our job is certainly as important as everybody else’s. Whatever our jobs may be, we enable lives and dreams.
I came to that realization as I was looking for a condotel developments in Tagaytay (for Airbnb and possibly for an affordable investment) and came across this video of Tagaytay Clifton Resort Suites by CitiGlobal Realty & Development Inc. The video shows the construction of the Building 2 of Cypress in full swing and several updates from the engineers.
It also shows workers in protective masks (apart from their usual PPEs) to make sure they are protective. (This is important because if one of the workers gets infected with the COVID-19 virus, then the entire construction activity shuts down. Kudos to CitiGlobal!)
Given the losses this developer must have incurred during the months of lockdown, I was beyond amazed that CitiGlobal is committed to finish its projects.
As I did a little digging, I kinda had an idea why this developer pursued with its project. It also supported my earlier view on why businesses, especially real estate constructions are in full swing (apart from they are already allowed to).
I think the developer and I have the same view that this is more than just about re-opening the economy and making sure the workers are able to put food on the table. This is more than just preventing businesses from losing more money, it is also about fulfilling a promise—a promise that will make a huge difference in the lives of many Filipinos.
Looking into the profile of CitiGlobal, I learned that it is a Filipino-owned budding real estate development company. It has come a long way since 2003 when it started as a marketing, landholding and leasing company. It later became a pioneer in affordable leisure segment. It has two projects, the Tagaytay Fontaine Villas and the Tagaytay Clifton Resort Suites.
What is as interesting and impressive as its projects is the fact that CitiGlobal saw the wisdom and value in providing OFWs with real estate investment that is affordable and worry-free. For me, this gives these projects a whole new meaning. This, and its continuous effort to finish its projects as soon as possible and without compromising quality (as emphasized by its project managers ) is something to feel good about.
