Summer is just around the corner, and the sun’s arrival comes with endless stream of outdoor activities and events. With so many opportunities to catch up with friends and family, plenty of memories will be made, and you’ll want to capture it on camera. Worry not, as you don’t need to be a professional photographer just to get some great summer snaps. The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) is your perfect travel companion. Take Your Smartphone Photography to the Next Level this Summer this summer season.
Priced at PHP 17,990 for (Exynos 7885) Processor with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 3,300mAh battery, and a 6-inch Super AMOLED display. Something hard to find in any other midrange smartphone in the market today.
Adding more cameras on a smartphone is the new trend. Samsung is not the first company to have a triple-camera setup but they are offering it at a far more affordable price.
The triple rear camera setup are vertically stacked along with a LED flash. You’ll get a 24-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, the 8-megapixel f/2.4 ultrawide sensor, and the 5-megapixel f/2.2 depth sensor with LED flash, while the selfie camera is a 24-megapixel f/2.0 with screen flash.
Design and Display Quality
The Galaxy A7 (2018) has a lightweight design and a modern appearance. The phone looks sleek and has a premium feel to it. The device sports a 6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display. The screen has limited bezels on the sides, but huge ones on the top and bottom. The colors are bit more saturated compared to other phones but with a good contrast, blacks are deep, and it’s very sharp.
The super AMOLED screen looks vivid and has a good sunlight legibility. The touch response is accurate and the tall aspect ratio allows more content to appear on screen.
The Galaxy A7 (2018) has three cameras on the back, a 24-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, the 8-megapixel f/2.4 ultrawide sensor, and the 5-megapixel f/2.2 depth sensor with LED flash while the selfie camera is a 24-megapixel f/2.0 aperture.
The 24-megapixel primary sensor f/1.7 aperture supports phase-detection auto-focus, that manages good photos in daylight. However, the focus speed slows down during low-light conditions.
8-megapixel f/2.4 ultra wide-angle lens also came in handy, especially for landscape shots outdoors, or for group shots. While the 5-megapixel depth lens comes handy to capture bokeh shots with an enhanced blur effect. I was reasonably impressed with the photos shot in different scenarios. In a brightly lit daytime settings the images captured were vibrant and had a decent in sharpness and contrast.
As far as photo quality is concerned, Galaxy A7 (2018) takes detailed shots in good light but shows weaknesses in low light. The primary 24-megapixel shooter works optimally in all light conditions, bright or low. However, the photos taken in low light situation lack details and a lot of noise.
The 24MP f/2.0 selfie shooter, on the other hand delivers consistent results in all light conditions. It also comes with Selfie Focus (depth effect), AR Emoji, and Wide Selfie.
