The international community has realized the urgent need to address the increasing environmental issues. “Be Sharp, Plant A Tree For A Greener Future” aims to combat climate change by planting 1000 trees, fostering a healthier world.
In response, Sharp Corporation, through Sharp (Philippines), formulated Eco Vision 2050, a long-term environmental vision that emphasizes resource recycling, safety and security, and climate change. This vision aims to minimize the environmental footprint of Sharp’s business activities and collaborate with the community.
Be Sharp, Plant A Tree For A Greener Future 🌱
In keeping with Sharp Eco Vision 2050, Sharp Philippines Corporation launched the “Caring for the Next Generation” branding campaign. One of the campaign’s initiatives is “Be Sharp, Plant a Tree for a Greener Future,” which will run from March 15, 2024, to June 15, 2024. The goal of this campaign is to plant a thousand trees to mitigate the effects of climate change and contribute to a greener, healthier world.
Sharp Philippines has partnered with Nature Awareness & Conservation Club, Inc., affiliated with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). This organization has social and environmental responsibility programs in partnership with local fishing communities and farmers, focusing on the Enhanced National Greening Program (ENGP) of DENR. They are well-known for their mangrove and upland tree planting activities in the Philippines.
As part of this initiative, Sharp Philippines and its partner organizations will plant a mangrove tree for every participating Sharp refrigerator model purchased by a customer. During the low tide season (April, May, and June 2024), mangrove trees will be planted at designated coastal sites in Bataan and Batangas. These trees will help mitigate the consequences of climate change by protecting coastlines, providing marine habitats, and storing carbon.
As a token of appreciation for their environmental concern, customers can request an electronic certificate by filling out the registration form on the official Sharp Philippines website. Customers wishing to participate in the actual tree planting can also send messages via Sharp Philippines’ official Facebook page. The company welcomes volunteers for this project, as it benefits our environment.
