The event marked the launch of several student-centric initiatives, including reduced ink prices and an expanded rewards system. According to Canon, students can now redeem Canon Rewards points at over 400 merchants nationwide through Giftaway e-gift certificates, adding practical value that goes beyond just printing needs.

Canon executives also gave a live demonstration of how to use the Canon App to track reward points and convert them into usable vouchers for daily expenses. With many students juggling tight budgets, this added functionality delivers both convenience and savings.
During the hands-on segment of the event, media personnel and student leaders from various universities had the chance to test Canon PIXMA and MAXIFY MegaTank printers. The features that stood out for academic use include wireless connectivity, duplex (two-sided) printing to save paper, and compact builds ideal for limited study areas. The MAXIFY MegaTank printers, in particular, offer high-yield ink systems capable of producing up to 21,000 color pages or 9,000 black pages when set to economy mode, making them especially useful for students managing high-volume printing needs.
