This service provides customers with the opportunity to reduce the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with their international air freight shipments. GoGreen Plus achieves this by utilizing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), a renewable energy alternative made from sustainable biomass, waste, or other renewable energy sources.
DHL Express partnered with BP, Neste, and World Energy to integrate SAF into its air freight network. This service supports DHL’s larger goal of achieving net-zero GHG emissions by 2050. As air freight accounts for approximately 68% of the company’s carbon emissions, transitioning to SAF for air transport is a critical strategy for reducing the carbon footprint of its logistics operations.
