The Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Market Development, Promotions and OTOP (DTI-BMDPO) officially launched its 2026 trade fair calendar with the DTI–Bagong Pilipinas National Trade Fair, held from February 18 to 22, 2026 at Megatrade Halls 1 to 3 of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

The five day event brought together over 300 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from across the Philippines in a dynamic marketplace designed to expand market access, strengthen buyer linkages, and showcase high quality, locally made products. The showcased products aligned with the Bagong Pilipinas and Tatak Pinoy strategies, reinforcing national efforts to elevate Filipino enterprises. Open to the public, the trade fair attracted strong buyer and consumer engagement throughout its run, highlighting the continued demand for locally produced goods.

By positioning the DTI–Bagong Pilipinas National Trade Fair 2026 as the first major event of the year, DTI-BMDPO set the tone for a strategic and growth driven trade fair calendar focused on sustainability, market integration, and enterprise development.

Building on Strong 2025 Performance

The 2026 kickoff followed a banner year in 2025, when DTI-BMDPO successfully mounted ten DTI–Bagong Pilipinas national trade fairs and participated in key international exhibitions.

These initiatives generated a combined ₱665.13 million in cash sales, booked orders, and ongoing negotiations. The programs directly benefited 1,774 MSMEs nationwide and attracted over 190,000 buyers and visitors. The results underscored the measurable impact of sustained trade fair programming in helping enterprises move beyond one time transactions toward long term market growth.

The strong 2025 performance demonstrated how a structured and consistent trade fair system can create real economic opportunities for Filipino MSMEs. By providing both consumer facing platforms and business to business engagement channels, DTI-BMDPO continues to strengthen its role in driving inclusive economic development.

Spotlight on Sustainable Filipino Design

A major highlight of the 2026 National Trade Fair was the upgraded Philippine Sustainability Pavilion. The pavilion featured furniture, fashion, textiles, and handicrafts crafted from coconut based materials, engineered bamboo, natural fibers, native grasses, and plant based dyes sourced from various regions of the Philippines.

The curated showcase emphasized eco conscious, design driven, and high value Filipino products tailored for retailers, distributors, exporters, and conscious consumers. By spotlighting sustainable materials and innovative craftsmanship, the pavilion reflected the growing importance of environmental responsibility in product development and market positioning.

Beyond the exhibition floor, attendees participated in business learning sessions focused on development, logistics, and sustainability. These sessions provided practical insights to help MSMEs refine operations and strengthen competitiveness. Daily craft workshops, product demonstrations, and cultural performances further enriched the visitor experience, celebrating Filipino creativity and craftsmanship while reinforcing the country’s cultural identity.

The Philippine Sustainability Pavilion served as a strategic platform that connected sustainability, design excellence, and commercial viability under one cohesive showcase.

Strengthening B2B Linkages Through Buyer’s Day 2026

Complementing the trade fair was DTI Buyer’s Day 2026: Sourcing and Connections, a pre event platform specifically designed to strengthen business to business engagement between MSMEs and institutional buyers.

The initiative created structured sourcing opportunities, facilitated networking sessions, and encouraged partnership building activities. Through this platform, DTI-BMDPO reinforced its market driven approach to enterprise development by ensuring that MSMEs had direct access to serious buyers and potential long term partners.

By integrating Buyer’s Day with the National Trade Fair, DTI-BMDPO strengthened its comprehensive ecosystem that supports both retail visibility and wholesale market expansion.

Driving MSME Growth in 2026

These platforms enable enterprises to test products, refine branding, adjust pricing strategies, and respond to real time consumer demand. The trade fair environment allows MSMEs to gather direct market feedback while building valuable buyer relationships.

With thirteen trade shows lined up for 2026, the agency continues to strengthen its integrated trade fair system. This system combines consumer facing exhibitions with structured buyer sourcing opportunities, creating sustained market integration pathways for Filipino enterprises.

Anchored on the Bagong Pilipinas vision, the 2026 National Trade Fair set the tone for a year focused on sustainability, stronger buyer engagement, and expanded market opportunities.
