Epson Launches SC-F20030 Textile Printer

6 Min Read

Epson, a leader in professional printing, is strengthening its industrial dye-sublimation portfolio with the launch of the SC-F20030 as Southeast Asia’s textile print industry continues its shift toward digital production. According to Epson-IDC’s report, Digital Textile Printing Trends in Southeast Asia, digital dye-sublimation enables print providers to achieve revenue growth up to eight times faster than traditional screen printing while expanding into high-demand segments such as sportswear, homewear, and footwear.

As demand grows for cost-effective short production runs and customized textile printing, manufacturers and print-on-demand providers are increasingly adopting digital technologies to meet tighter production timelines and more complex workflows. This transition also supports improved operational consistency and sustainability, making digital dye-sublimation an increasingly attractive solution for textile businesses across the region.

Building on its predecessor, the SC-F11030, which delivers high productivity and outstanding print quality across both short-run and high-volume textile work, the new SC-F20030 expands Epson’s 76-inch industrial textile printer lineup. The printer is designed for high-production textile environments where speed, scalability, and consistent output quality are essential. Engineered for higher-throughput operations, the SC-F20030 supports fast-paced, short-run workflows while maintaining reliable performance.

Advanced eight-printhead architecture for high productivity and image quality

The SC-F20030 features eight Epson PrecisionCore MicroTFP printheads arranged in a horizontal overlapping configuration. This doubles the four-printhead architecture found in the SC-F11030 while improving dot placement across the 76-inch print width. As a result, the printer delivers production speeds of up to 306 m²/h at 600 x 600 dpi while maintaining consistent, high-quality results throughout extended production runs.

Like the SC-F11030, the SC-F20030 uses Epson UltraChrome DS Ink together with a bulk ink supply system that supports 10-liter ink packs and hot swap functionality. When one ink pack runs out during printing, the system automatically switches to a second ink pack of the same color, allowing production to continue uninterrupted while the empty pack is replaced. This feature helps minimize downtime and maintain productivity in high-volume printing environments.

Designed for high reliability and maximum uptime

To reduce operational interruptions, the SC-F20030 is designed to support stable and continuous textile production. The printer includes a built-in drying system with double-sided heating that warms both the front and back of the transfer media. This supports in-process ink curing, helping reduce unwanted ink transfer while minimizing media wrinkling during production.

An integrated dust-reduction mechanism combines an intake fan and media cleaner to reduce dust buildup inside the printer. This helps minimize nozzle clogging, contributing to more stable print quality while reducing waste.

For high-production environments, optional jumbo roll and jumbo reel units support media loads of up to 300kg. This reduces the frequency of media changes, enabling longer and more efficient print runs for mid- to large-scale traditional textile manufacturers and digital printing factories serving both domestic and export markets.

The SC-F20030 also provides greater flexibility through user self-repair functions. Specific components, including the printhead and anti-drying cap, can be replaced directly by operators with support from printer diagnostics. This reduces reliance on service calls and enables faster recovery from technical issues, helping businesses maximize uptime.

Building on proven performance to meet evolving industry needs

The SC-F20030 builds on the proven 76-inch SC-F11030 printer, which delivers high productivity and strong print quality for textile producers transitioning from legacy production methods to digital dye-sublimation printing. Across Southeast Asia, these models have supported businesses in scaling and advancing their operations by combining high-speed printing with robust image quality and automated features such as integrated drying and precise media control.

“As Southeast Asia’s textile printing industry evolves, flexibility, responsiveness and production stability are becoming critical to long-term success,” said Noelle Gonzalez, Head of Marketing, Epson Philippines. “With the SC-F20030, we are expanding Epson’s industrial dye-sublimation portfolio to better support businesses managing higher production demands, tighter turnaround expectations and more complex print workflows. It reflects our continued commitment to helping customers improve operational efficiency while advancing more sustainable printing practices.”

The launch of the Epson SC-F20030 further reinforces Epson’s commitment to supporting the evolving needs of the textile printing industry. By combining high-speed production, reliable performance, advanced printhead technology, integrated automation, and user-focused maintenance features, the printer is designed to help businesses improve efficiency while adapting to increasing demand for digital textile printing.
