Beyond competition, the event showcased how HUAWEI’s smartwatches empower users to monitor performance and improve their routines. “What I like most about my HUAWEI WATCH is that its heart rate response, sleep, and distance are very accurate. It really helps us athletes a lot to push ourselves and improve our activities, especially for runs like this,” said Edzel Baritua, first-place winner in the men’s race.

Long-time HUAWEI user and women’s champion Jennifer Barlis shared how her smartwatch supports her daily training. “I’ve been a HUAWEI user since 2013 and my favorite thing about my HUAWEI Watch is its long-lasting battery. Next, the integrated HUAWEI Health App is really helpful in tracking our performance and health, given its accurate tracking features,” she said.

Second placer Carizza Joy Sotalbo expressed her excitement about joining the HUAWEI community. “It’s really fun to be a part of the HUAWEI Running Community. The people are so competitive. It’s my first time joining, and it was such a refreshing experience. My HUAWEI wearable has helped me keep track of my speed and performance, and all the features I need as a runner are in the HUAWEI Health app,” she shared.

Third-place finisher Katrina Alyss Co added, “It’s my first time joining the HUAWEI Active Rings fun run, so I finally got the opportunity to participate. This event inspired and motivated me because I got to see other runners during the race who share the same love for running that I do.”

Shopee and GCash Technology for Every Lifestyle

The event combined fitness and smart lifestyle convenience through engaging brand partnerships. At the GCash Watch Pay booth, participants could link and activate their GCash accounts directly on their HUAWEI smartwatches, enabling easy cashless transactions from their wrist.

Shopee and other partners added excitement with interactive activities. Content creator James Afante joined the run while livestreaming, capturing the event’s energy from the starting line to the finish. His livestream showcased real-time interactions, crowd enthusiasm, and behind-the-scenes moments that highlighted the strength of community and shared motivation.

These activations underscored HUAWEI’s goal of blending technology, wellness, and lifestyle, helping users stay connected while staying fit.
