Manulife Philippines, the local arm of leading international financial services provider Manulife, has partnered once again with brand ambassadors Erwan Heussaff and his daughter, Dahlia, to premiere their third collaborative video. The new release focuses on the importance of healthy eating habits and how simple daily actions can contribute to better overall health.

The video, now available on Heussaff’s social media platforms, captures a heartwarming father-and-daughter moment as they spend a rainy day at home cooking tomato soup. Through this relatable scene, the video emphasizes that small, manageable steps and easy-to-make recipes can create a meaningful impact on long-term well-being.

Encouraging Healthy Eating Habits from an Early Age

In the video, Heussaff underscores the value of introducing children to proper nutrition early in life. “Teaching kids to eat right at an early age is just as critical as instilling values like honesty or kindness. It sets the foundation for their life-long health, discipline, and relationship with food,” he said. “Obesity, diabetes, and other chronic diseases once seen in adults, are now affecting kids. Healthy eating early can help prevent these long-term issues.”

This message aligns with recent research from Manulife Philippines. The study revealed that 33% of Filipinos consider their lifestyle unhealthy, while 24% admit they are unsure what constitutes healthy eating habits. These findings point to the need for clearer guidance and practical examples of healthy living.

Survey Findings Reveal Gaps in Healthy Eating Habits

The 2024 Manulife Asia Care Survey further supports this perspective. While respondents in the Philippines recognize physical health as the most crucial factor in achieving their desired lifespan, only five out of 17 preventive health actions are practiced by more than half of the participants. This suggests a gap between awareness and consistent healthy eating habits.

By collaborating with Manulife, Heussaff hopes to bridge this gap through approachable and easy-to-follow examples. His latest project aims to inspire Filipinos to integrate healthy eating habits into their everyday routines.

Manulife’s Commitment to Promoting Healthy Eating Habits

According to Sonali Verma, Chief Marketing Officer of Manulife Philippines, the company remains focused on promoting both physical health and financial security among Filipinos. “Insights from our recent studies reveal Filipinos are aware of the importance of their physical health to living a better life. Despite the high level of awareness, there are still gaps in their action to fully attain a healthy lifestyle,” Verma said.

Verma added, “At Manulife, we remain committed to empowering Filipinos to take charge of their health, wellness, and financial security through our products and solutions. Additionally, our partnerships with trusted public figures like the Heussaffs help us communicate this message—making decisions easier and lives better for more Filipino families.”

Continuing a Collaboration Focused on Healthy Eating Habits

Since becoming a Manulife brand ambassador alongside his wife, actress Anne Curtis, Heussaff has worked with the company on a video series supporting its mission to encourage healthier and better living. The first two videos in the series featured healthy cooking tips and highlighted Manulife’s Impact Agenda initiatives with the Haribon Foundation in Quezon Province.

In addition to the cooking and lifestyle-focused collaborations, the Heussaff family recently appeared in Manulife Philippines’ brand campaign, “M Knows Better,” further strengthening their role in promoting healthy eating habits and overall wellness.

Inspiring Healthier Lives Through Simple Eating Habits

Through this latest installment, Manulife Philippines and Erwan Heussaff aim to show that achieving better health does not always require drastic changes. Instead, it can begin with small, intentional steps, such as preparing nutritious meals at home. By making healthy eating habits a family activity, parents can instill lifelong practices in their children while also reinforcing the importance of wellness within the household.

The campaign also reflects Manulife’s broader commitment to helping Filipinos live better through accessible resources, practical advice, and community-focused initiatives. With ongoing collaborations and research-driven insights, the company continues to find innovative ways to connect with Filipinos and encourage them to make informed choices about their health.

By combining engaging storytelling, relatable family moments, and actionable tips, the partnership between Manulife Philippines and Erwan Heussaff provides a compelling reminder that healthy eating habits are achievable and rewarding. Their latest video serves as both an inspiration and a practical guide for those seeking to make positive changes in their daily lives.
