Nothing today announced the highly anticipated Phone (2a), its latest smartphone offering. The Phone (2a) aims to deliver the optimal daily smartphone experience by prioritizing core user needs and leveraging Nothing’s expertise, engineering, and craftsmanship. This device caters to people who appreciate innovative designs and technology while also valuing practical features in their smartphones. It boasts a powerful and unique processor, an exceptional 50 MP dual rear camera, an extra-bright flexible AMOLED display, and an intuitive operating system that ensures a fast and smooth user experience.

Performance
The Nothing Phone 2a’s Dimensity 7200 Pro processor, co-engineered with MediaTek, delivers top performance with optimal power efficiency. Built on TSMC’s latest second-generation 4nm process technology, the Nothing Phone 2a effortlessly powers through any task with unmatched power efficiency and blazing speed.
Paired with a massive 20GB of RAM and RAM Booster technology, the 8-core chip, clocking speeds up to 2.8 GHz, ensures smooth and responsive multitasking throughout the day. This translates to a performance that is 13% more powerful and 16% more efficient than the Phone (1).
Together, Nothing and MediaTek have implemented optimizations such as Smart Clean (offering a 200% increase in UFS read/write speed over extended use) and Adaptive NTFS (providing 100% faster file transfer speeds with Windows computers). Additionally, they have achieved up to a 10% reduction in power consumption for specific components.
Battery and Charging
Nothing’s largest smartphone battery to date, a powerful 5,000 mAh unit, delivers up to two days of use on a single full charge. Not only is it larger than previous batteries, but it also performs better. Compared to Phone (1), Nothing has increased battery longevity by over 25%. This translates to maintaining over 90% of its maximum capacity after 1,000 charging cycles, which corresponds to over three years of daily charging. The battery also experiences a 13% reduction in temperature during charging and discharging compared to Phone (1), which contributes to its extended lifespan.
For rapid power-ups, Nothing Phone 2a supports 45W Fast Charging, delivering 50% of the battery’s power in just 20 minutes. This optimal charging solution helps to avoid the risk of battery degradation, often associated with higher wattage and faster charging speeds.
Camera
To capture life’s greatest moments, the Nothing Phone 2a boasts a flawless dual 50MP rear camera powered by our TrueLens Engine. This engine is a suite of advanced computational algorithms that work together to ensure every shot you take is as close to reality as possible.
One key feature is Ultra XDR, co-developed with Google to achieve more accurate representation of highlights and shadows in every picture. It accomplishes this by capturing eight frames with varying exposure levels in RAW format and then adjusting the brightness of each pixel up to five times to deliver the most true-to-life results.
For capturing flawless selfies anytime, anywhere, the Nothing Phone 2a features a remarkable 32MP front camera. This camera utilizes the same sensor as the Phone (2), offering 27% greater light sensitivity compared to the Phone (1), allowing for more details to be captured.
Display
The Nothing Phone 2a boasts a 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED display, delivering stunningly accurate color reproduction with 1.07 billion colors while minimizing battery consumption. Additionally, with a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, the Nothing Phone 2a ensures an uncompromised viewing experience even in bright outdoor conditions.
For sublimely smooth interactions, the Nothing Phone 2a features a 120Hz refresh rate that dynamically adapts to the content being displayed. This adjustable refresh rate, ranging from 30Hz to 120Hz, balances smooth responsiveness with improved battery life.
The Nothing Phone 2a showcases the thinnest bezels in Nothing’s smartphone lineup, measuring a mere 2.1mm on all four sides of the screen. This accomplishment results in an impressive 91.65% screen-to-body ratio, achieved through the combination of a flexible panel and advanced structural engineering.
Design
Nothing Phone 2a is the ultimate embodiment of Nothing’s unique design language. It exemplifies the first-ever internal smartphone design concept created just a few months after Nothing launched in 2020.
By placing the cameras within the NFC coil, Nothing Phone 2a introduces a new design hallmark: the eyes. Behind these lies the “brain” – the central hub that powers the phone. Nothing Phone 2a boasts an industry-first with its 90-degree angle unibody cover wrapping around the edges, creating a fresh dimension and perspective to Nothing’s design while seamlessly integrating the dual camera module. This structure not only enhances aesthetics but also strengthens the device, evident in improved drop test results.
Further reinforcing the harmony between form and function, the unique camera “bump” also stabilizes the phone when placed flat on a surface and minimizes finger smudges while taking pictures.
Nothing OS
Nothing Phone 2a enters the market with Nothing OS 2.5. Unlike the majority of the devices in this category, it comes with Android 14 out of the box, with an impressive three years of software updates and four years of security updates. With Nothing OS 2.5, Nothing has expanded its library with even more Nothing-designed widgets, with swipeable views and animations for more levels of information and interactions on your home screen. Nothing Phone 2a marks the launch of a new Recorder widget which allows users to create voice memos on the go. The Glyph Interface
On the back of the phone, Nothing Phone 2a reimagines the iconic Glyph Interface. Sustainability
Nothing Phone 2a delivers Nothing’s lowest carbon footprint in a smartphone. At 52 kg, it’s 12.5% lower than that of Phone (1). With sustainability goals in mind, Nothing has developed a brand-new recycling process in Nothing’s manufacturing plant, which allows for plastic waste from the Ear (2) production line to be repurposed into Nothing Phone 2a. Nothing has also maintained its commitment to plastic-free packaging, using recycled fibre instead. The device itself also contains a number of recycled materials:

- 100% recycled copper foil on the main circuit board
- Recycled steel on 22 steel stamping parts
