Conrad Manila presents Bayside, the 35th edition of its Of Art and Wine series, featuring new works by artist Lara Latosa. The exhibit, created in collaboration with Art Lounge Manila, runs from May 13 to July 12, 2025, at Gallery C on the hotel’s third level.
Latosa, a free diver and environmental advocate, brings her deep connection with the ocean to the forefront. Her paintings use fluid strokes and bright colors to depict marine life, waves, and underwater light. The collection pays tribute to the ocean and aligns with World Ocean Month in June.
“Given Conrad Manila’s iconic location along Manila Bay, it is especially fitting to host ‘Bayside’,” said Fabio Berto, General Manager of Conrad Manila. “This remarkable collection resonates deeply with our guests, mirroring our shared commitment to promote awareness and responsibility for marine ecosystems.”

A Tribute to the Sea
Latosa’s work reflects her passion for the ocean. As someone who spends time underwater, she brings this experience into each painting. The collection captures the movement of waves and the way light plays beneath the surface. At the same time, it explores deeper topics such as resilience, emotional health, and how moments in life can be fleeting.
“My art is a love letter to the ocean,” Latosa shared. “It has been both an escape from life’s struggles and a way to express the deep bond I feel with the sea. The waves symbolize my passion for water, my journey with mental wellness, and my belief in life’s ephemeral beauty.”
Guests at the exhibit opening included key figures from various industries. Cathy Nepomuceno, Vice President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation, attended alongside the artist herself. Also present were Susanne Tiausas, Managing Director of Art Lounge Manila; Camille Genuino, Board Treasurer of Angat Buhay; and Dr. Deo Florence Onda, Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Research, Innovation, Development, and Enterprise at the Marine Science Institute, University of the Philippines Diliman.
Each of Latosa’s paintings is done in acrylic on canvas. The ocean-inspired abstract pieces are available for purchase during the exhibit’s run.
Art & Indulgence: A “Bayside” Inspired Afternoon Tea Experience
Alongside the exhibit, Conrad Manila offers a themed afternoon tea at C Lounge from May 13 to July 12, 2025. Designed by the hotel’s chefs, the tea set for two is priced at PHP 3,288++ and highlights ocean-inspired flavors and presentation.
