Huawei made waves last year with its horizontal foldables, the Mate X3 and Mate X5, but fans were left waiting for a vertical foldable. Enter the Huawei Pocket S, unveiled in late 2022. Now, anticipation is mounting once again with leaks of the upcoming Huawei Pocket 2 flip, shared by the reliable source Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo.

The renders showcase the Huawei Pocket 2 flip in three stunning color options: a sleek black, a luxurious Dark Purple with a leather-like texture, and a sophisticated Rococo White boasting a marble-inspired finish.

True to its lineage, the Huawei Pocket 2 flip retains the distinctive dual-circle design on its back. The first circle houses the camera island, while the second serves as the cover display. Notably, previous models featured a 1.04” circular OLED display with a resolution of 340 x 340px, offering a compact yet functional secondary screen.

While details about the camera setup remain scarce, the camera island is equipped with three lenses. Previous iterations such as the P50 Pocket and Pocket S boasted a 40MP main sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide lens. Additionally, the P50 introduced a unique 32MP camera capable of ultraviolet spectrum imaging, a feature utilized for the innovative Sunscreen Test.

Speculation abounds regarding the Pocket 2 flip’s release alongside the upcoming Huawei P70 series, following the trend set by the P60 series launched in March last year. However, given the historical release pattern, enthusiasts may have to wait a little longer, as Pocket models typically debut later in the year.
