Singapore Airlines (SIA) has unveiled its next-generation long-haul cabin products, introducing redesigned First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class seats as part of an investment exceeding S$2 billion (P98 billion). The new cabin designs aim to deliver a more comfortable, personal, and intuitive travel experience by addressing how passengers work, dine, relax, and rest during their flights.
The Singaporean flag carrier will progressively introduce the new cabin products from the second half of 2027. The upgraded interiors will debut on 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and A350-900 ultra-long-range (ULR) aircraft, as well as the airline’s upcoming Boeing 777-9 fleet.
The investment forms part of Singapore Airlines’ elevated end-to-end travel experience, with improvements across all four cabin classes. The new designs will introduce greater privacy, enhanced comfort, increased flexibility, and more personalized in-flight features.
Mr Lee Lik Hsin, Chief Commercial Officer, Singapore Airlines, said: “While each cabin has been designed individually, they are united by the same ambition to make the experience more comfortable, flexible, and rewarding for our customers. Singapore Airlines’ next-generation long-haul cabin products will ensure that our customers travel more comfortably than before, and have greater control over their in-flight experience, whether they are working, dining, relaxing, or resting.”

Singapore Airlines Introduces New First Class and Business Class Features
The upcoming Boeing 777-9 aircraft will feature all four next-generation cabin products, including the redesigned First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class seats.
The 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR aircraft will receive the new Business Class seats. The A350-900ULR fleet will also introduce First Class cabins for the first time.
Among the major upgrades, the new First Class suites will feature sliding doors at every seat to provide greater privacy. The two center seats will also be convertible into a double bed, which Singapore Airlines describes as the largest in commercial aviation.
Business Class passengers can expect enhanced seat ergonomics designed to improve comfort and support more restful sleep. The redesigned seats will also offer increased privacy, adaptable personal spaces, and companion beds.
Premium Economy Class and Economy Class will receive improvements focused on providing more space, greater comfort, and added convenience. The upgraded cabins will also introduce new entertainment options to enhance the passenger experience.
Another feature across First Class and Business Class will be smart cabin controls that remember passengers’ preferred settings across journeys. This functionality will provide greater personalization and allow customers to maintain their preferred cabin environment when travelling with Singapore Airlines.
Extensive Customer Research Shapes Singapore Airlines’ New Cabin Designs
The development of the next-generation cabin products followed extensive research involving more than 5,000 frequent travellers, customers, employees, and industry experts worldwide.
Singapore Airlines gathered insights through focus groups, interviews, surveys, and concept testing. The research examined how passengers work, dine, relax, sleep, and spend their time during flights, helping the airline identify areas where its cabin products could better accommodate different needs and preferences.
The findings highlighted growing customer expectations for greater privacy and comfort, intuitive functionality, flexibility, and a more connected travel experience. Passengers increasingly value cabin environments that respond to their individual requirements throughout their journeys.
These insights informed the development of the new cabin products in collaboration with three international design firms. PriestmanGoode worked on First Class, Designworks handled Business Class, while Factorydesign developed the Premium Economy Class and Economy Class concepts.
Singapore Airlines also collaborated with its manufacturing partners to bring the new cabin designs to life. Collins Aerospace will manufacture the new First Class, Premium Economy Class, and Economy Class seats, while RECARO Aircraft Seating will manufacture the new Business Class seats.
