SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC) has announced the appointment of Janytte Siega as General Manager of SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu, the country’s largest upcoming convention and exhibition venue located within the SM Seaside Cebu complex. The venue is set to open in November 2026 and will serve as a major addition to the Philippines’ meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) sector.
With more than two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Siega brings extensive expertise in hotel operations, banquet services, guest experience, and convention management to her new role at SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu.
Janytte Siega Brings More Than 20 Years of Hospitality and MICE Experience
Siega is a seasoned hospitality professional whose career spans more than 20 years across the hotel, banquet, and MICE industries. Throughout her career, she has developed a strong background in operations leadership, guest experience, and large-scale convention management.
Prior to her appointment as General Manager of SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu, Siega served as Director of Banquets and Event Services and Officer-in-Charge for Operations at SMX Convention Center Manila. In these roles, she played key roles in overseeing high-volume tactical implementation and elevating service standards within one of the country’s premier MICE venues.
Her experience positions her to lead the upcoming convention center as it prepares for its official opening in November 2026.
Extensive Experience Across the Philippines and the Middle East
Throughout her professional career, Siega has built extensive expertise across the Philippines and the Middle East. She has worked with renowned luxury hotels and globally recognized hospitality brands in Cebu, Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah.
Her experience includes handling high-profile corporate, government, and social engagements attended by international dignitaries and delegates. This broad exposure has contributed to her expertise in managing large-scale events and delivering high standards of service across various hospitality settings.
Known for her collaborative leadership style and hands-on approach, Siega will oversee key aspects of the convention center’s preparations and operations.
Leading the Pre-Opening Phase of SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu
As General Manager, Siega will lead SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu through its pre-opening phase. Her responsibilities will focus on operational readiness, talent development, strategic partnerships, and delivering world-class experiences aligned with the SMX brand.
Her appointment comes as preparations continue for the launch of what is expected to be the country’s largest upcoming convention and exhibition venue.

SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu to Offer Over 21,000 Square Meters of Space
Located within the SM Seaside Cebu complex, SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu will feature more than 21,000 square meters of leasable space across six levels.
The venue will be directly connected to the SM Seaside Arena and SM Seaside Cebu Mall, creating an integrated destination for exhibitions, conventions, entertainment, and hospitality.
The development forms part of the broader SM Seaside Cebu complex and is designed to accommodate a wide range of events and activities upon its opening.
