Manulife Philippines proudly introduces Manulife Stories, a video series celebrating the fulfillment of dreams and the perseverance required to achieve them. This campaign highlights the company’s new brand strategy, underscoring their global tagline, “Where will better take you.”
The three-part series features personal stories from Manulife customers Peach Abella, Mark David, KL Fernando, Marielle Malaga, Yvonne Reyes, and Manulife brand ambassador Anne Curtis. Each shares how their experiences of resilience and self-investment were supported by their insurance plans.
“At the heart of every insurance policy is a deeply human story. Our goal is to ensure that, no matter the situation, our customers feel supported and confident that we are safeguarding their dreams and the futures of their families,” said Sonali Verma, Chief Marketing Officer of Manulife Philippines.
She continued, “It is heartwarming to hear how the Manulife team provided encouragement and support when it was most needed. Through Manulife Stories, we aim to inspire more Filipinos to take proactive steps toward securing their financial futures, knowing Manulife will be their trusted partner.”
The joys and tears of motherhood
For KL, her first Manulife policy proved invaluable in helping her and her husband start a family. After years of trying to conceive, in vitro fertilization (IVF) became their final option. “I asked my financial advisor if I could withdraw from my policy to help pay for the procedure, and she guided me through the entire process. A few months later, we had our son, Pedro,” KL shared.
Anne Curtis echoed similar sentiments, attributing her early financial planning to the peace of mind she had during her pregnancy with her daughter Dahlia, especially during the pandemic. “It was a scary time, being in lockdown and not working. But having my husband’s support and the security of my Manulife insurance helped me feel assured. I’m so glad I prepared early for my family’s future,” Anne said.
Legacies that save a child’s future
Losing a loved one often brings emotional and financial challenges that can overwhelm families. Yvonne Reyes, who lost her husband at 30, shared how her Manulife plan helped her provide for her daughter’s education. “I realized there was a reason I kept that plan. Now, as a single parent, I can use the benefits for my daughter’s tuition.”
Marielle Malaga faced a similar situation, balancing her medical studies with caring for her hospitalized mother. Thanks to a combination of Manulife policies, Marielle was able to pay for her mother’s ICU stay without putting her own education on hold. “The policies covered the medical expenses, allowing me to continue pursuing my dream of becoming a healthcare professional,” she said.
Providing for unique needs
For those with pre-existing conditions, finding the right insurance can be difficult. Peach Abella, living with HIV, and Mark David, who cares for his son with autism, ADHD, and intellectual development delay, both found solace in their Manulife advisors, who tailored insurance plans to their needs.
“We couldn’t find that security elsewhere. My son is already at a disadvantage, and we want to give him every opportunity,” Mark said. Similarly, Peach expressed her gratitude for her advisor, saying, “She’s the reason I have an insurance policy now. I won’t let it go to waste, and I’m so thankful to feel secure.”
