On March 28, the TCL Air Conditioner Guangzhou Base Inauguration & 100 Million Units Milestone Ceremony themed “Beyond 100 Million, Innovating a Smarter Future” was held in Nansha, Guangzhou. Powered by world-leading AI smart manufacturing capabilities, a zero-carbon operation philosophy, and a full-scenario smart ecosystem, the TCL Air Conditioner Guangzhou Smart Manufacturing Base has become a new benchmark for advanced manufacturing in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
TCL Air Conditioner Targets 10 Billion Yuan Output in the Greater Bay Area
As the factory with the highest single-base intelligent air conditioner manufacturing capacity in the Greater Bay Area, China, the TCL Air Conditioner Guangzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Base is expected to achieve an output value of 3 billion yuan in 2026 following its inauguration. Over the next five years, the base aims to exceed an output value of 10 billion yuan while creating more than 10,000 jobs through its operations and ecological chain enterprises.
Leveraging the port advantages of the Greater Bay Area, the base will serve as a global showcase for “Made in China” manufacturing and support the growth of related industry clusters including precision manufacturing, electronic components, logistics, and transportation.
AI Smart Manufacturing Enables One Air Conditioner Every 7 Seconds
The TCL Air Conditioner Guangzhou Smart Manufacturing Base represents a total investment of nearly 2 billion yuan and spans a floor area of 303 mu. The facility features three world-class fully flexible dark factories, 15 advanced laboratories, 10 intelligent production lines, and ultra-high-ratio collaborative industrial robots.
Driven by ultra-high data computing power, ultra-multi-axis machine automation, and an ultra-strong AI intelligent agent collaboration platform, the manufacturing park has an annual production capacity of 8 million units.
At the TCL Air Conditioner Guangzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Base, the globally leading supercomputer-driven production line operates at a pace of “one air conditioner every 7 seconds”. Supported by an AI data supercomputing center with a computing power of 300 quintillion operations per second, the production system can efficiently process all-around data collection from 17,000 IoT sensors while meeting the real-time computing demands of more than 2,000 AI agents.
The TCL Air Conditioner Guangzhou Smart Manufacturing Base also features the world’s only AI-empowered intelligent ultra-high-precision heat exchanger production line. Through AI algorithms, TCL has created the world’s only fully automated and intelligent production line with one-flow full robotic arms for evaporator and condenser stamping, punching, and swelling, improving labor efficiency by 41.7%.
The three fully flexible dark factories support round-the-clock dark production for evaporators and condensers, piping, and injection molding. These factories establish a full-process unmanned operation system with AI-based all-round control characterized by self-perception, self-decision-making, and self-scheduling, making the facility a global benchmark intelligent production line for air conditioner core component manufacturing.
Yue Yang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nansha District Committee and Head of Nansha District, Guangzhou, stated that Nansha will continue to support enterprise development by optimizing the business environment, refining policies and measures, improving service efficiency, and providing comprehensive support for enterprises. He added that the district will make every effort to build the base into a new benchmark for intelligent manufacturing in the Greater Bay Area while assisting TCL Air Conditioner in strengthening its presence in Nansha.
Du Juan, CEO of TCL Industries, stated that the TCL Air Conditioner Guangzhou Smart Manufacturing Base achieved the miracle of “obtaining land, commencing production, and being included in statistics in the same year”. Deeply practicing the ESG governance philosophy, the park aims to become the first “digital intelligence + zero carbon” dual-benchmark park in the global air conditioner industry while achieving the comprehensive integration of smart manufacturing and green production.
She added that TCL Air Conditioner will leverage TCL Industries’ deep-rooted intelligence and AI capabilities in the smart terminal industry, using the Guangzhou base as a new starting point. The company plans to refine its product layout from sleep fresh air to AI intelligence on the consumer side while advancing its exploration from commercial energy storage to thermal management solutions on the industrial side.
TCL Builds a Zero-Carbon AI Manufacturing Ecosystem
While pursuing manufacturing efficiency, the TCL Air Conditioner Guangzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Base continues to prioritize green development. The park has achieved full photovoltaic coverage across 50,000 square meters alongside an equivalent scale of energy storage.
Through AI algorithms, the base enables intelligent allocation of energy and resources, generating 6.9835 million kWh of energy and saving the equivalent of 2,081 tons of standard coal annually.
Using intelligent eco-friendly exhaust gas purification technology and comprehensive digital management systems, the facility achieves near-zero solid waste, near-zero exhaust gas, and near-zero water resource waste. TCL has established a comprehensive AI-powered zero-carbon production system for the air conditioner industry, providing a replicable “TCL solution” for the green transformation of manufacturing.
Li Jiang, Chairman of the China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry Association, stated that TCL Air Conditioner has contributed positively to the industry’s high-quality development through innovative manufacturing and globalization practices.
He added that the China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry Association, the National Technical Committee on Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Equipment, and Hefei General Machinery Research Institute will continue deepening cooperation with TCL Air Conditioner in key technology R&D, standards formulation and revision, product quality improvement, green and low-carbon transformation, and global expansion.
