Time to MOVE Campaign Brings Community Running and Recovery Experiences in Metro Manila

4 Min Read

Manulife Philippines launches the “Time to MOVE” brand campaign, a series of initiatives encouraging Filipinos to take the first step toward better well-being. The campaign promotes the brand’s holistic health program, ManulifeMOVE, which focuses on building sustainable habits through consistent movement.

The campaign is anchored on insights from the Asia Care Survey 2026 and the #FYP: Future-proofing Young Pinoys study, which highlight Filipinos’ evolving perspectives on longevity and the gap between health awareness and the habits needed to support a better quality of life.

Run and Recover Initiative

One of the key initiatives under the campaign is “Run and Recover,” developed in partnership with Just Show Up, a running collective based in Makati that promotes health, consistency, and community engagement through movement.

The initiative is designed to:

ICYM: The Kick-Off Experience (Makati)

ICYM, the first Run and Recover experience brought together 150 participants for a 5KM community run, followed by a recovery and social session in Makati City at Spotted Pig.

The event introduced the series’ core message: building healthy habits begins with simply showing up.

The experience featured a 5KM community run with pacers, designed to keep the pace inclusive and accessible for participants of varying fitness levels. The editorial team also joined the run, experiencing firsthand how shared movement and group energy transformed the activity into a more communal experience.

Following the run, participants gathered for a nutritious recovery breakfast, a lounge-style DJ set, a welcome program, raffle activities, and community networking. The atmosphere extended wellness beyond movement into connection and shared experience.

This session combined a 5KM community run with a contrast therapy experience, pairing movement with structured recovery in a more immersive wellness setting.

The editorial team also participated in this session, experiencing contrast therapy for the first time in a guided environment. The activity introduced participants to alternating sauna and ice plunge sessions designed to emphasize recovery as an essential part of the wellness journey.

The experience followed a structured cycle, typically involving 10 to 15 minutes in the sauna followed by 1 to 2 minutes of cold plunge, repeated across two rounds, with some sessions concluding in a neutral or warm recovery phase.

The contrast therapy format is widely associated with post-exercise recovery benefits, including improved circulation, temporary cardiovascular stimulation similar to light exercise, muscle relaxation, and reduced perception of soreness. It is also commonly linked to relaxation responses that support mental calm and post-activity recovery.

Similar to the first event, participants also had access to a wellness lounge with refreshments and networking spaces, while a DJ set provided a relaxed social atmosphere throughout the morning.

  • 5KM community run with pacers
  • Contrast therapy experience: sauna and ice plunge (30 pax per rotation)
