As the world’s third-largest smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi continues to strengthen its position in the global consumer electronics market. Holding a 14 percent share of the global smartphone market in Q3 2025 according to Omdia, Xiaomi is widely recognized for its smartphones while steadily evolving into a global technology leader. Today, the company delivers a wide portfolio that includes smartphones, electric vehicles, and home appliances, all unified under its “Human × Car × Home” smart ecosystem strategy.

As of September 2025, Xiaomi reported over 740 million global monthly active users. Within this expanding ecosystem, REDMI has played a central role in extending Xiaomi’s global reach. The brand reached a historic milestone of 1 billion smartphone shipments in 2023. A major contributor to this achievement is the REDMI Note Series, which has surpassed 460 million cumulative shipments across more than 100 countries as of December 18, 2025. Building on this momentum, Xiaomi is expanding the lineup with the global launch of the REDMI Note 15 Series this month.

“Over the past decade, the REDMI Note Series has earned the trust of users across global markets, and this is inseparable from Xiaomi’s long-term investment in research and development,” said Cynthia Chen, REDMI Marketing Director at Xiaomi Global Marketing Department. “Since the series first launched in Singapore 12 years ago, we have continuously advanced performance, quality, and accessibility at scale. This month, we’re excited to introduce the latest REDMI Note 15 Series to audiences around the world.”

From First Global Launch to Worldwide Reach

Designed to balance performance, quality, and accessibility, the REDMI Note Series has been instrumental in driving smartphone adoption worldwide. The series made its first global debut in Singapore in 2014, where it set a sales record by selling 5,000 units in under one minute. Later that year, the launch in India generated significant demand, with initial stock selling out in just eight seconds.

The first REDMI Note model introduced a 5.5-inch display, a battery capacity exceeding 3,000mAh, and strong performance at accessible price points. These features established the foundation for the long-term direction of the series.

Global expansion accelerated between 2017 and 2018. In May 2017, the REDMI Note 4 Series led Xiaomi’s official entry into Latin America through Mexico. In November 2017, the series debuted in Spain, marking its first step into the European market. Today, the REDMI Note Series is available in over 100 countries, supported by an omnichannel distribution network that includes Xiaomi Stores, leading e-commerce platforms, and carrier partnerships.

Redefining the Mid-Range Through Flagship-Level Innovation

Beyond expanding geographically, the REDMI Note Series has focused on narrowing the gap between mid-range smartphones and premium flagships. By introducing advanced features into more accessible segments, the series has embodied Xiaomi’s “Innovation for Everyone” philosophy.

Camera technology has been a defining area of progress. The REDMI Note 12 Pro+ 5G marked a milestone by introducing a 200MP camera with optical image stabilization, the first OIS-equipped camera in the series. Combined with a flagship-level 1/1.4-inch sensor and 120W HyperCharge, the device brought premium-level capabilities to a broader audience.

Raising Durability for Everyday Use

Durability has evolved alongside performance improvements. The REDMI Note 7 Series introduced Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and back panels, a rare feature for mid-range devices in 2019. The REDMI Note 10 Pro added IP53 splash resistance and reinforced structural design.

A significant leap came with the REDMI Note 13 Pro+ 5G, which became the first global REDMI Note device to offer IP68 water and dust resistance, paired with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus display protection. This progress continued with the REDMI Note 14 Pro+ 5G and REDMI Note 14 Pro 5G, both featuring Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and IP68 certification.

The Next Chapter: REDMI Note 15 Series

Launching globally this month, the REDMI Note 15 Series represents the next phase in the evolution of the lineup. The series reinforces its position through continued advancements in durability, performance, and user experience. Featuring REDMI Titan Durability, the lineup delivers long-lasting battery performance, reinforced drop protection, and enhanced dust and water resistance across models.

The REDMI Note 15 Series further narrows the gap between accessible smartphones and premium flagships by introducing flagship-level technologies such as Silicon-Carbon Battery technology, the Xiaomi IceLoop cooling system, and multiple AI-powered capabilities designed to support stable performance and intelligent usage scenarios.

At the top of the lineup, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G showcases the most advanced hardware configuration in the series to date. It features a new 200MP ultimate-clarity camera powered by a globally debuting HPE sensor, comprehensive IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust and water resistance, and SGS 5-stars Premium Performance Certification.

Empowered by Long-Term R&D and Advanced Manufacturing

Xiaomi’s continued innovation is underpinned by sustained investment in research and development. According to its earnings report, the company invested RMB 23.5 billion in R&D during the first three quarters of 2025, with plans to increase investment to RMB 40 billion in 2026.

This commitment is reflected in Xiaomi’s global R&D network, which spans more than 730 laboratories across 11 cities worldwide. Supporting these efforts is Xiaomi’s in-house smart manufacturing infrastructure, including the Xiaomi EV Factory in Beijing, operational since 2023, and the Xiaomi Smart Home Appliance Factory in Wuhan, which began operations in October 2025. The Xiaomi Smart Factory in Beijing, operational since 2024, serves as the company’s central hub for smartphone manufacturing and research, producing finished smartphones every six seconds.

Driving the Next Phase of Global Growth

With global shipments exceeding 460 million units, the REDMI Note Series continues to reflect Xiaomi’s commitment to accessible innovation at scale. Supported by long-term R&D investment and advanced manufacturing capabilities, the series continues to evolve as the REDMI Note 15 Series launches globally.

The wait is over. The REDMI Note 15 Series has arrived in the Philippines, offering flagship power, distinctive style, and Titan Tough durability. The lineup is now available at Lazada, Shopee, and official retail stores nationwide.
