Canon Philippines has officially introduced its new video-focused camera lineup, the EOS / PowerShot V Series, aimed specifically at today’s content creators. The newly launched devices include the EOS R50 V, PowerShot V1, and PowerShot V10. These models bring advanced video-first features to Canon’s product portfolio, meeting the growing demands of Filipino creators who are shifting towards video content across various platforms.
This unveiling took place at Midnight Dream Studios, Glorietta 1, where over 100 guests—including content creators, media professionals, and influencers—gathered to witness the launch and test the new devices. Notable names such as Farrah Espina, Liana of Art and Plan Studio, Karl Patacsil, Jo Escultura, and Gab Altonaga attended the event. Attendees were able to experience the cameras through hands-on demos across seven interactive zones: livestreaming, podcasting, GRWM (get ready with me), unboxing, food content creation, lifestyle vlogging, and video editing. Each area was designed to highlight the cameras’ practical applications in real-world content creation.
With the increasing popularity of video-first platforms like TikTok, content creation has dramatically shifted in recent years. Short-form video has become the preferred medium over still photography, especially among younger creators. Despite this shift, many content creators in the Philippines still rely heavily on smartphones, which can limit both video quality and creative flexibility. Canon saw this as an opportunity to introduce a new line of cameras that combines ease of use with enhanced creative control and image quality.
“Filipino creators have a strong enthusiasm for capturing life’s moments and producing engaging video content,” said Jian Liu, Canon Philippines Director for Consumer Information and Imaging. “With the EOS R50 V and PowerShot V1, they can enjoy a blend of portability, intuitive controls, and high-end performance. Whether they’re vlogging, livestreaming, or making short films, Filipinos can now tell their stories more powerfully, thanks to the reliability and innovation Canon is known for.”

Feature-Rich Tools for Video Content Creation
Among the standout models in the new lineup is the EOS R50 V. This camera is equipped with a 24.2-megapixel APS-C sensor, similar to the type used in Super 35mm cinema cameras, providing professional-level video quality. It supports advanced features such as Canon’s Custom Picture profiles, the use of LUTs, and HDR recording modes that elevate video content quality. The EOS R50 V also offers 4K 60p livestreaming via USB-C and is capable of capturing high-fidelity sound with its 3-mic noise reduction system. The streamlined body design—without a traditional viewfinder—is optimized for handheld shooting, gimbal use, and vertical video recording, catering directly to the needs of social media content creators.
The camera is also designed to pair effectively with the RF-S14-30mm f/4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens. This is Canon’s first lens to include built-in power zoom functionality, offering 15 customizable zoom speeds. The combination of this lens with the EOS R50 V makes for a powerful yet portable setup that allows creators to produce dynamic content on the go.
Canon also unveiled the PowerShot V1, its first compact camera built specifically for video. It comes with a large 1.4-inch sensor and a built-in zoom lens that covers a 16–50mm equivalent range. Additional features include a built-in 3-stop ND filter for exposure control and Subject Tracking IS to keep footage stable and focused. An internal cooling fan enables extended recording times of up to 6 hours, making it an ideal tool for creators involved in long-form video production.
Both the EOS R50 V and PowerShot V1 offer 10-bit Canon Log 3 recording for professional color grading workflows. They also feature seamless connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and direct PC streaming, which allow creators to easily upload or broadcast their content.

A Lineup Made for the Filipino Creator Economy
The launch of the EOS / PowerShot V Series is Canon’s direct response to the rapid growth of the content creation industry in the Philippines. By introducing cameras that combine the convenience of smartphones with cinema-level quality and performance, Canon is addressing a clear need in the market.
For those interested in pricing, the EOS R50 V with the RF-S14-30mm f/4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens (camera only) is available for PHP 56,998. The PowerShot V1 is priced at PHP 54,998, while the EOS R50 V Content Creator Kit, which includes the HG-TBR100 grip and DM-E100 microphone, is available for PHP 64,998. With this launch, Canon reinforces its commitment to innovation while giving Filipino creators powerful new tools to elevate their craft across all content platforms.
