Tennessee, in particular, has so much history to experience and would make a great destination for lovers of history. Nashville
Nashville is the capital of Tennessee and the most populous city in the state. Nashville is also an amazing spot for people who love history. Some big draws for history lovers in Nashville include the Fort Nashborough History Center and Fort Negley. There is also the Tennessee State Museum, which focuses on the history of the state of Tennessee specifically.
If you want to check out something grand, there is a full-scale replica of The Parthenon in Nashville. If you enjoy presidential history, Andrew Jackson’s home, called The Hermitage, is located in Nashville and is open to the public as a museum.
Interestingly, the Tennessee State Capitol is considered one of the oldest working state capitol buildings in the country. There is no shortage of history in Nashville from city and state history to international history.
Memphis
Memphis is located on the Mississippi River and is known historically as a music city. If you love music, and you love history, this is the city for you. Memphis is known as the “Home of the Blues,” and you can still visit historic Beale Street and take in some amazing live music.

Knoxville
If you are in the Knoxville area, there are several historical sites you can check out there, too. You can visit James White’s Fort, Bleak House, and the William Blount Mansion, all of which will contribute to your Knoxville city historical knowledge.
