YGG Pilipinas is set to embark on a transformative four-month journey with the Metaverse Filipino Worker (MFW) Caravan, a dynamic roadshow designed to bring the future of work to six key cities across the Philippines. Running from April to August 2025, the MFW Caravan aims to equip Filipinos with essential digital skills and introduce new online earning opportunities—all without leaving their hometowns. This multi-stage event is part of a broader year-long initiative to help more Filipinos explore alternative career paths beyond traditional employment and overseas work.
Through immersive workshops and insightful discussions facilitated by YGG Pilipinas’ educational platform, Metaversity, attendees will gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge fields such as Web3, artificial intelligence (AI), and decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN). Metaversity will offer valuable lessons on resume building, optimizing workflows with AI, and utilizing decentralized applications (DApps). Job boards and career orientation sessions will be available at every stop, while event quests and AI bounties from YGG’s Future of Work program provide participants with opportunities to earn rewards. Additionally, attendees will learn how to engage with the Metaverse Filipino Alliance community.
“The MFW movement is a testament to how Filipinos can build sustainable careers in the global decentralized digital economy. We have seen former overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) return home and establish new online income streams, students turn their passion for gaming into careers, small business owners leverage Web3 to expand their market reach, farmers explore digital opportunities to supplement their livelihoods, and working mothers develop home-based careers that allow them to stay with their families. Their stories highlight that the future of work is already here—and it is accessible from anywhere in the Philippines,” said Mench Dizon, Country Head of YGG Pilipinas.
The MFW movement first gained momentum in January 2025 with the release of the short film Metaverse Filipino Worker on YouTube, showcasing real-life success stories of Filipinos thriving in Web3 careers. The film, available at MFW.Life, garnered over a million views within two weeks. As part of the MFW Caravan, the film’s featured individuals will travel across the country to share their personal journeys, inspire communities, and provide firsthand insights into how they overcame challenges and unlocked global opportunities.
True to YGG Pilipinas’ commitment to community engagement, each stop of the MFW Caravan will feature Web3 game demos, showmatches, and tournaments for popular blockchain-based games. For many Metaverse Filipino Workers, Web3 gaming has served as their gateway into the open metaverse, providing a fun and rewarding introduction to blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. These events will also connect players with the supportive YGG Pilipinas community to help them navigate this emerging digital landscape.
“The MFW Caravan reflects a crucial shift in how Filipinos approach work—one that prioritizes digital skills, borderless opportunities, and economic empowerment without the need to go overseas to get it. At the DICT, we recognize the importance of preparing our workforce for these changes by promoting education and upskilling in emerging fields like Web3 and AI. By expanding awareness and opening more pathways to these opportunities, we are laying the foundation for a more inclusive and resilient digital workforce in the Philippines,” said Emmy Lou Delfin, Director, ICT Industry Development Bureau (IIDB) and Regional Director, MIMAROPA at the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
As the global job market rapidly evolves with advancements in Web3 and AI, the demand for skilled professionals continues to surge. The World Economic Forum’s whitepaper, The Rise of Global Digital Jobs, estimates that there are currently over 70 million digital jobs worldwide, with projections indicating that this number could reach 100 million by 2030. Simultaneously, the Web3 market—valued at over USD $1 billion—is expected to grow sixfold in the next five years, according to Mordor Intelligence. YGG Pilipinas aims to bridge the digital skills gap by providing upskilling opportunities to all Filipinos, ensuring they can capitalize on these emerging trends.
The MFW Caravan will kick off on April 5 at Ayala Malls Abreeza in Davao, followed by stops at Ayala Malls Centrio in Cagayan De Oro on May 4, Ayala Malls Atria Park District in Iloilo on June 7, Ayala Malls Legaspi in Bicol on June 28, a venue in Palawan on July 19, and will conclude its final leg in Manila on August 2. This nationwide tour is made possible through partnerships with Ayala Malls, G!G, Coins.ph, Converge, and Parallel TCG, alongside the support of DICT and the City Education and Development Office in Cagayan De Oro.
The MFW Caravan is a rebrand of the YGG Pilipinas Roadtrip, which has been bringing emerging technology education to grassroots communities and schools across the Philippines since 2022. With an expanded vision and a growing national community, the MFW Caravan represents YGG Pilipinas’ commitment to uncovering new learning and earning opportunities, ensuring that Filipinos across the country have access to the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the digital economy.
