With its newest flagship range, the vivo X80 series, co-engineered with ZEISS to take brilliant and vivid images with maximum light intensity and greater blue sensitivity, vivo worked with ZEISS to raise the smartphone imaging experience to another level.
The vivo X80 Series is anticipated to reinvent the cinematography smartphone experience for Filipinos, building on the popularity of its predecessor. The product will have capabilities to improve both produced films and images, making it simpler for users to shoot professional photos in a flash.
With this innovative concept, photographers, photography enthusiasts, and students may express their creativity more freely without needing to invest in pricey camera bodies. Additionally, it will assist them in developing their photographic abilities.
Here are our unboxing and initial thoughts about the vivo X80, vivo’s newest flagship smartphone. This is another amazing product from Vivo that we were fortunate enough to get our hands-on.
Build Quality/Design
The 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display on the front of the vivo X80 5G has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits.
ideal for watching HD video content from streaming services like Netflix and YouTube. We actually checked the device’s widevine security level, and it has an L1 security level, the maximum degree of protection, indicating that it can play videos at their highest definition.
The vivo X80 looks and feels more premium because of its 3D curved AG glass back with a smudge-resistant matte finish.
Additionally, it has a dedicated microSD card port and a triple card slot for two nano-SIM cards. We also noticed that the card slot is rubber-encased to help keep out dust and moisture.
The USB type-c charging connector, speaker output, and dual SIM slot are all located on the phone’s bottom. The smartphone does not support the installation of a microSD card, and the SIM card tray can only accommodate two SIM cards. On the right, there are volume rockers and a power button.
Unboxing/Accessories
The vivo X80 is packaged in a stunning dark blue square box with a co-engineered ZEISS emblem and the phone’s model emblazoned on the front in metallic silver font.
Inside the box, you will find the vivo X80 phone, an 80W wall charger with flash charge technology, a nice protective case that matches the color of the phone, type-C wired earphones, a USB Type-A to USB Type-C data/charging cable, additional silicone ear tips, paper documentation, and the SIM ejector tool.
Since most brands these days no longer offer these accessories out of the box, it’s really wonderful to see that vivo still includes a charger, a pair of earbuds, and a premium-looking case.
Camera
The vivo X80 main cameras are composed of a 50 Megapixel f/1.8 Sony IMX866 sensor, a 12 Megapixel f/2.0 Portait camera with 2x zoom, and a 12 Megapixel Ultra-Wide angle sensor. The front camera is a 32-megapixel selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.5.
In our test, the vivo X80 captured stunning pictures in both bright and low-light conditions. The samples we have provided below were all taken directly from the camera. Sincerely, I had fun using this smartphone to take pictures. I was also impressed by how it managed to capture clear pictures while people were dancing and moving quickly at the Baragatan Festival. Regarding color reproduction, it is accurate and bright. Additionally, I saw that pictures taken with the vivo X80 in ZEISS mode had better control and appeared more authentic.
Overall, the vivo X80’s camera performance is excellent, and to be completely honest, I seldom ever used my mirrorless during my vacation to Palawan because using a smartphone was more practical. Fortunately, the vivo X80 did not let me down when it came to producing lovely pictures during my trip.
Here are some sample photos using vivo X80:
Personally, I’m really impressed with the new vivo X80. I’ve been using it as my primary phone for the past two weeks, and I’ve been promoting it to everyone who wants a smartphone with an excellent camera.
