The new Joyroom JR-TL1 doesn’t have that same Apple AirPods form factor like the JR-T04s. The JR-TL1’s charging case comes in a pill-shaped enclosure similar to that of Samsung’s Galaxy Buds. It also features an in-ear design with a rating of IPX7 which means that the product can be immersed in water for a maximum of 30 minutes at a depth of 3ft (1m).

Overall the build quality is just ok. Since they’re fully plastic, they have an IPX7 certification. This means that you can wash the earbuds with water and you don’t have to worry about sweat or rain.

Note: While your Joyroom JR-TL1 is designed to survive lots of water it is never a good idea to push its limits. These are perfect for using above water while being protected enough to survive an accidental drop in the water or heavy splashing. Anything more than that can damage your device.

One of my favorite features of this device is that you can use it even if you don’t use the other piece since either piece can work as your main buds. This is perfect when you are working and you still need to be aware of your surroundings.

Earbud Touchpad Commands

All the controls you need are at your fingertips with the touchpads on your earbuds.

Short tap the touchpad to play or pause music.
Double tap the touchpad of the left earbuds to go back to the previous song
Double tap the touchpad of the right earbuds to go forward to the next song
To answer or hang up a call short tap the touchpad.
To reject a call press and hold the touchpad for 2 seconds.

Battery Life

Each Joyroom JR-TL1 earpiece has a battery capacity of 55mAh with up to 6 hours playback time (70-80% volume). The charging case has around 300mAh battery capacity that can provide another 5 full extra charges. The charging time for the earbuds is 1.5 hours for both the earbuds and charging case.

Verdict

If you are looking for a pair of sweatproof wireless earbuds for your most challenging workouts, with a decent battery life, and great sound then the new Joyroom JR-TL1 might just be the device you are looking for. One of the features I really like about the earbuds is that it has an IPX7 waterproof rating, perfect for keeping up with your active lifestyle while working out.

The Pairing Operation

Bilateral pairing operation:

Open the charging case, the earphone will automatically turn on.
Take the left and right earbuds out of the charging case, and they will pair automatically. The red and blue lights of the main earphone will flash alternately.
Turn on the Bluetooth and search for the Bluetooth device “JR-TL1”
Click on the connection. After the connection is successful, the prompt sound was “dong”.
At this point, you can start listening to the music and calling.

Note: For the first time, you need to manually connect the earphone. The earphone that is not connected for the first time will automatically connect back to the last connected device (iPhone and Android phone connection is the same).

Single earphone pairing operation:

Open the charging case, the earphone will automatically turn on
Take out the left/right earphone from the charging case and the earbuds flash red and blue light.
Turn on the Bluetooth and search for the Bluetooth device “JR-TL1”
Click on the connection. After the connection is successful, the prompt sound was “dong”.
At this point, you can start listening to the music and calling.

Main and secondary earphone switching modes:

Switch to unilateral use in binaural mode:

In the process of using bilateral earbuds, put the left earphone into the charging case and it will automatically switch the right earphone to the main earphone and keep the music state before the switch.
In the process of using bilateral earbuds, put the left earphone into the charging case and it will not affect the normal working of the left earphone;
Take out the left or right earphone separately and they will automatically connect back to the phone.
