Located in gateway cities across Asia, the refreshed Marco Polo Hotels brand is designed to inspire guests to embark on a journey of discovery, whether for business or leisure. Wharf Hotels President, Thomas Salg, commented that the rebranding reflects the increase in “bleisure” travel in the Asia-Pacific region, where guests seek inspiring experiences beyond just a place to stay.

Industry insights indicate that approximately 45% of Asia-Pacific business travelers combine work trips with leisure activities, a trend expected to grow due to the demand for work-life balance.

The rebranding centers around three pillars: Enrich, Connect, and Responsible, defining the essence of Marco Polo Hotels. A new visual identity and Viva Magenta brand color reflect the brand’s warm and vibrant personality.

  • Enrich: Offers culinary and unexpected experiences, with activations, special events, and themed pursuits at food and beverage venues. The addition of SAVVY, a modern restaurant offering shared plates with Italian-inspired and local specialties, enhances the dining experience. Modern aesthetics and amenities in rooms and suites, such as the Continental Club, ensure comfort and convenience.
  • Connect: Each Marco Polo Hotel is conveniently located, providing a base for connecting with neighborhood culinary and cultural adventures, shopping, and entertainment. The hotels also offer flexible and large spaces for meetings and social celebrations.
  • Responsible: Demonstrates the brand’s commitment to health-conscious living and eco-friendly practices through biodegradable amenities, sustainable seafood sourcing, farm-to-table dining options, and energy and water-efficient initiatives. Community involvement further emphasizes the importance of social well-being and environmental care.

The new visual identity and color palette will be gradually implemented across marketing materials and hotel collateral throughout 2024 and into 2025. The refreshed look marks the beginning of a comprehensive enhancement plan, including the rebranding of Prince Hotel, Hong Kong, and Marco Polo Wuhan. Further changes and investments are expected at other properties in the coming years.
