To further empower IT professionals, Lenovo is also expanding its collaboration with iFixit. This partnership equips IT managers with the tools to efficiently fix and repair devices, minimizing downtime and extending hardware lifespans. Leveraging insights from the iFixit Solutions team, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 and T16 Gen 3 have been designed with enhanced repairability in mind. Customer-replaceable parts (CRUs) have been expanded to include the battery with a cable-free connector, a fully socketed DIMM design, and support for SSD and WWAN replacements. Additionally, visual indicators have been incorporated to facilitate repairs. In collaboration with iFixit, Lenovo has created new repair guides, including video procedures for all CRUs, and simplified the ordering process for these parts.

These innovations contribute to extending product lifecycles, reducing electronic waste, and offering cost-saving benefits for both businesses and individuals. As a testament to these improvements, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 and T16 Gen 3 have achieved a provisional iFixit repairability score of 9.3 out of 10.
