Our Room

During our recent stay at Savoy Hotel Manila, we experienced the Premier Room, a spacious and thoughtfully designed accommodation measuring approximately 23 square meters. The room was designed for comfort and practicality, comfortably accommodating two adults and a child. The large floor-to-ceiling windows allowed natural light to flood the space, offering expansive views of the city skyline with its iconic billboards and towering buildings.

Savoy Hotel Manila Premier Room

The room’s aesthetic blended modern and vibrant design with functionality. The queen-sized bed was the centerpiece, neatly arranged with crisp white linens, plush pillows, and a bed runner accented by bold abstract patterns in purple, blue, and yellow. The upholstered grey headboard, framed by a minimalist wooden border, added a sophisticated touch. Flanking the bed were two nightstands, each featuring built-in wall lamps that provided ambient lighting. To the side, a teal two-seater sofa provided a colorful contrast to the neutral tones of the room and a perfect spot for lounging and enjoying the city views.

For guests needing to work or plan their next adventure, the room also featured a work desk paired with a grey cushioned chair. The desk area included a desk lamp, creating a convenient spot for getting work done. The flooring consisted of grey-toned wood-style tiles, which enhanced the room’s clean, sleek look. Above the bed, a large abstract canvas artwork in shades of blue and purple tied the room’s color scheme together with a bold artistic flair.

In terms of amenities, the Premier Room was thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials: high-speed Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, mini-bar, hairdryer, in-room safe, and coffee and tea-making facilities. Should you need to freshen up your clothes during your stay, you can also request an iron and ironing board from the hotel. These additions enhanced the comfort and convenience of the space, making it perfect for both relaxation and productivity. The room’s minimalist design, coupled with its functional layout, made for an overall pleasant and enjoyable stay.

We also stayed at the Deck Suite at Savoy Hotel Manila, perfect for those who prefer a more spacious room during their city stay. Measuring approximately 53.30 sqm, the suite features a stunning city view, a big living area, a well-stocked mini bar, and a Nespresso machine for your caffeine fix. It’s an ideal space to relax and unwind after a busy day in the metro.

Culinary Delights at Savoy Hotel Manila

One of the highlights of our stay was the culinary journey we experienced at Savoy Hotel Manila. For both nights, we were treated to the Delightful Weekend Buffet featuring Pistang Pinoy, a festive spread that celebrated the vibrant spirit of Filipino fiestas. The buffet offered an impressive selection of regional dishes, allowing us to indulge in classic flavors from across the Philippines. A standout for us was the BBQ station, where we were able to savor Isaw, a popular Filipino street food delicacy that’s both flavorful and satisfying. Another nice touch was the inclusion of Balut, a beloved Filipino street food, which I’m sure many foreigners would love to try for the first time. It’s a unique local experience that adds an authentic touch to the buffet.

What I really appreciate is how Savoy Hotel Manila has stayed true to its Filipino-themed experience, offering guests a deep dive into our country’s culinary traditions. This was especially evident as I noticed a lot of foreign nationals during our stay. Welcoming foreigners to the Philippines this way offers them a unique cultural experience, giving them a true taste of the local flavors that reflect the spirit of Filipino hospitality.

For lunch, we had the opportunity to try Sampaguita-Infused Dishes, offering a fresh, aromatic twist on local flavors. The Sampaguita Tartine was our appetizer, and it was absolutely delightful, featuring a perfect combination of smoked salmon, cheese, onion, capers, and dehydrated sampaguita on toast. It was light yet packed with flavor, making it a wonderful start to our meal. Our entree, the Pan-Seared Seabass, truly stood out. Served with Sampaguita rice pilaf, mango salsa, and dried sampaguita, the seabass was perfectly cooked, and the rice pilaf added an exquisite floral touch. This dish was definitely our favorite on the Sampaguita Signature menu, and I’d surely be visiting Savoy Hotel Manila again just to enjoy this dish. For dessert, we tried the Sampaguita Polvoron Mantecado, which contained wheat, dairy, eggs, banana sponge, pandan caramel, chantilly cream, caramelized sampaguita blossom, candied olives, and mango compote. While the dessert was just okay for my taste, I believe dessert lovers will truly enjoy its complex flavors and creative presentation.

The Savoy Café also serves an extensive breakfast spread, offering a range of options that cater to every taste. To ensure a smooth start to the day, I suggest heading down early, as the restaurant tends to get crowded around 8 to 9 AM. Whether you’re craving something traditional or prefer more contemporary options, the breakfast selection is sure to leave you satisfied and ready for your day’s adventures.

One of the highlights of the hotel is the spa, which offers a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Open 24 hours (subject to availability), the spa provides in-room or on-site massage services exclusively for in-house guests. Reservations are recommended upon check-in to ensure a spot. During my stay, I opted for the spa room, which provided a serene and tranquil environment, enhanced by the calming scent of sampaguita and soft ambient music. The massage therapist applied firm pressure, effectively easing tension and helping me fully relax. Using Sampaguita-infused massage oil, the treatment addressed travel fatigue and body aches, making it a memorable experience.
